The story follows high schooler Nagai Kei, who dies in a car accident but revives as an Ajin—immortal beings who regenerate after death. Hunted by authorities seeking to use him for experiments, Kei flees and finds himself caught in a rising war between humans and Ajin, where he must choose a side.
