The story revolves around a boy named Ishida Shouya, who can hear, and a newly transferred deaf student named Nishimiya Shouko. After five years, Ishida decides to meet Nishimiya to achieve his goal in life. For the first time, they will hear each other's "voices," and the curtain will rise on this story.
